The young Korean Yongha appears lately in the manga. After a misunderstanding, win against him will become the principal motivation's spring of Hikaru during the Hokuto Cup. Whereas he has to face Akira Toya and that everybody waited this match, Hikaru will be designated captain of the Japonese Team and front him.

A young prodigy of Korean's go.

Yongha is older of one year than Hikaru and Akira, he appears for the first time in the manga whereas he is playing an amical game against Toya Meijin, his model, the one that he dreamed to face during internationals matchs. But, the retreat of this last one has heavily thwarted his projects.

Toya Meijin says also that he knows a young player who has the same level, his son Akira.

His friend and confidant is Suyon, the young corean that Hikaru had faced in Japan. This last one says that he admires a lot his partner, he is an example but he disapproves sometime his attitude and doesn't hesitate to say that. That's true, he has sometime a childish comportment.

This new wil provoke Hikaru's rage when he will know it. But instead of dissipate this misunderstanding, the rage of the young japonese amuse Yongha and he trys to provoke him again. He is rather proud and over-satisfied, often provokes the others and doesn't want to recognize that his game with Hikaru was close.
