Even if her role is not very important, Harumi Ichikawa is one one of the recurrents characters of the manga. She follows with entertainment and detaching Akira's progression and his rivality with Hikaru.

Young, beautiful and single, Hichikawa is the smiling receptionist of the Toya Meijin's go's salon. Always gracious with the clients, she seems to be the friend of the most faithful who come to tell her their life.

When Hikaru comes in the club for the first time, she doesn't make him pay and gives him a prospectus for a child go's tournament.

Even if she has only olds persons around her, she seems to feel happy of her work.

Close to Toya's clan.

But her role doesn't keep itself to stay behind her counter. Even when she doesn't work, she is with Toya's family. She comes to recover Akira at the exit of his school, prepares him his light collation, comes to see Koyo at the hospital and brings back at his home the presents that he has recieved. We could think that she is a babysitter or their adoptive daughter! In any case, she done everything to be good seen...

But, the one that she is more close to, is Akira. She has a lot of affection for him, done all to be agreable to him et proposes also to come to make him food when his parents are in China.
