By chance, Hikaru meets him at a go center. He sees the young boy cheating when he counts the territories at the end of the game.
The following day, he forces Mitani to go to the school go club and tries to convince him to join the club and to stop cheating. At lunchtime, Hikaru heard a talk between Kishimoto and a girl from Kaio about Akira. They say Akira was victim of persecutions and ignored them in order to play against Hikaru Shindo. This one feels sad and decides to let Sai play to satisfy Akira.
When they face each other, Akira shacked from the fear he has to fight Hikaru but he manages to dominate his nervousness. While Mitani try to impress Kishimoto, Sai plays against Akira.
But suddenly, Sai hesitates whereas Hikaru sees a place to play. He asks himself how big is the difference in strength between Akira and him and decides to play by himself.
All of a sudden, Akira gets up from his chair, believing Hikaru is fooling him in playing so poorly. He is very disappointed by discovering Hikaru's true level and hurries to finish the game.
Mitani and Tsutsui lose their match and cries but Kishimoto admit Mitani plays better than he was expected.
